Bermuda Tourism Authority Visitor Information Centre

When it came to the design of a bold, new Visitor’s Information Centre right in the heart of Hamilton, the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) turned to the experts at OBMI to bring their vision to life.

In a first for OBMI Bermuda, the development involved the reposition of an existing shipping container building from the west end of the island, to Hamilton.  The structure was formerly utilized as the Artemis Team Base at Cross Island during the 35th America’s Cup hosted by Bermuda in 2017.  The containers were reassembled on the Hamilton Harbour Docks, after being transported from the western part of the island.

The full scope of the project included the assembly of 30 shipping containers to create a 3 level pavilion full of activity. The first level is dedicated to visitor information and retail.  The second level provides an event space available for both corporate functions and private events. The third floor was created to facilitate an open air concession. It is currently home to The Birdcage, a chic roof-top lounge offering sweeping views of the Hamilton Harbour and iconic Front Street.

OBMI was proud to be a part of this unique project that is now a central gathering and focal point for visitors and locals alike.
